Carousels with their colorful menageries of animals evoke fond childhood memories for many people.

"My first memory of a carousel ride was at a small country fair in New England. It was the magic of the twinkling lights, the lilting music and the wildly exotic colors but most of all those wonderful carousel steeds with their tossing manes, arched necks and graceful bodies dancing round and round. In my imagination I sat on not JUST a carousel horse but instead rode away to parades, medieval jousts or across the plains as an old west cowgirl," relates the artist.
